The mainstay of the family suddenly lost more than 10 kg and he was diagnosed fourth stage of liver cirrhosis after testing. The health condition was deteriorated while waiting for treatment and thus leaving behind a 47-year-old widow, an 11-year-old daughter and an 80-year-old father.

Neoh Beng Kooi, a 54-year-old fisherman from Jelutong in Penang, had lost more than 10 kg before the Chinese New Year. He went to the hospital for examination and was diagnosed with stage four liver cirrhosis and the liver does not function. Due to the family's financial difficulties, they seek ONE HOPE CHARITY for assistant while waiting for the doctor's treatment plan.

After home visit, ONE HOPE CHARITY agreed on 5th April to assist the family in food, living expenses and education expenses for half a year and the medical expenses waiting for finalize which pending treatment plan from doctor. However, on 11 April, Neoh Beng Kooi had dead in the hospital, leaving behind his 80-year-old father, 47-year-old wife and 11-year-old daughter.

Earlier, Neoh Beng Kooi was a fisherman who went out to sea with his brother to catch crabs. His wife was a secretary with a monthly salary of no more than RM2,000. Noe she needs to pay car loans and house rental. Due to financial conditions, the 11-year-old daughter not able to join tuition class, moreover her academic performance is not good.

Because of Neoh Beng Kooi was friendly person during his lifetime, his classmates and friends have attended to send him off for the last journey of life. The family has also paid the funeral fee through the money they collected during the funeral ceremony. With the death of Neoh Beng Kooi, ONE HOPE CHARITY decided take care of the father, spouse & daughter for half a year, which will be review again after the period.
