Diabetes forced an Indian man to have his right foot amputated. In order for him to be self-sufficient, ONE HOPE CHARITY provided him with a custom-made prosthetic that allowed him to earn money after returning to action.

Arumugam A/L Appasamy (69), a Penang resident, has had diabetes for more than 30 years. His right foot was severely ulcerated and infected due to a bacterial infection in May of last year. The doctor performed an amputation surgery to save his life. He and his wife divorced ten years ago. After the amputation, he stay at his friend's home, who took care of his daily needs.

He applied for prosthetics from ONE HOPE CHARITY in order to be self-sufficient. He was able to return to work as a tour guide after wearing the prosthetics and earning money to support himself.

After a home visit and review, the use of prosthetics was approved, and the prosthetics were delivered to him a few days ago. Arumugam is eager to return to the tour guide industry.
