A six-year-old boy was diagnosed with upper airway obstruction. His upper jaw and throat were not fully developed, which makes him unable to swallow. In addition, he also has hearing problems. One Hope Charity sponsored him with a pair of hearing aids and catheters for his stoma, so that he can start his Year One education next year.

Phavvan A/L Meenakshi Sundaram, from Bukit Mertajam, has been diagnosed with upper airway obstruction. His upper jaw and  throat were not well-developed. He began to rely on catheters to drink milk through his nose since he was one month old. As he is entering Year One next year, the doctor recommended him to have a stoma. His family could not afford the cost of catheters, hence they applied for assistance from One Hope Charity.

When the volunteers from One Hope Charity conducted a home visit, they discovered that the boy has hearing problems, so they arranged him to go to a hearing centre for an examination. The report showed that he had hearing problems in both the ears. One Hope Charity also helped him with a pair of hearing aids to facilitate his primary school studies starting from next year.
