ONE HOPE CHARITY not only helps the poor and sick who require large medical expenses, but it also helps the poor who require medicine, prosthetics, medical supplies, living assistance, and so on.

ONE HOPE CHARITY disbursed RM204,996.15 (excluding urgent fundraising cases) and assisted 145 application cases from February to June of this year. RM37,372 10 for February (25 person/family), RM53,522 for March (38 person/family), RM31,690 for April (27 person/family), RM25,476 for May (19 person/family), and RM56,935.75 for June (36 person/family).

Since every applicant's case is different, we will send a team to their doorstep for home-visit, and provide the most appropriate assistance based on their needs, even if the associated expenses are minor.

Although some patients have surgery in government hospitals, the surgical aids must be purchased by themselves, and some patients require special milk powder, diapers, medicine, prosthetics, adjustable hangers, hearing aids, food, supplementary needles, and other items. These are a financial burden for poor families.

The following is a special occasion, and we hope it can assist those in need.

In October of last year, a 25-year-old man, felt pain and tingling in his lower back. It didn't work after physical therapy and acupuncture. Instead, the pain spread to his right leg. He couldn't stand, sit, or lie down for an extended period of time for several months. He was unable to work as a result of this. A medical examination at a specialized hospital revealed that a herniated lumbar intervertebral disc caused it. ONE HOPE CHARITY paid his surgical fees in the amount of RM20,000. The operation went well. He can now move freely and return to work.

Diabetes caused the wounds to fester; minor wounds could not be healed and they had to be cleaned; severe wounds would have to be amputated. ONE HOPE CHARITY also helped three people with wound cleaning costs totaling thousands of ringgits. Cleaning these wounds can cost dozens of ringgits to a thousand ringgits, depending on the wound size, and the monthly cost of cleaning wounds has far exceeded the salary of ordinary workers.

In general, for cases that need assistance of not more than RM20,000, One Hope Charity will not initiate fundraising but would make good use of public donations to help those who are in need. Anyone who needs medical assistance, such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, oxygen machines, special milk formula, diapers or other assistance can contact One Hope Charity’s hotline at 016-419 2192, 019-232 2192 or 04-539 9212.
