Realising the fact that many small traders have been badly affected by the pandemic, Ng Kim Ying, a generous businessman from Bukit Mertajam often ordered refreshments such as kuih and pastries, beverages, and desserts from the traders, so that he could generate some businesses for the local traders, and at the same time, provide some refreshments for the medical personnel and volunteers of the One Hope Charity Vaccination Centre.

Some of the refreshments that Ng Kim Ying sponsored were brown sugar biscuits, cold soya bean curd (tau hua), hawthorn juice, ice coffee, ice milk tea, ice lemon tea, nyonya kuih, fruit tarts, canned juice and many more.

The income of small traders was badly affected during the pandemic. When Mr. Ng Kim Ying learnt about the situation, he had the idea of helping those traders. Hence, he ordered food from them regularly and sent it over to the vaccination centre.
