Volunteers are very important to a vaccination centre. They play crucial roles to ensure the smooth operations, and they are the backbone and unsung heroes behind the success of a vaccination centre.

42-year-old Ooi Poh Imm from Butterworth is a teacher at a daycare centre. However, she is unable to work since the movement control order (MCO). As she does not want to stay at home doing nothing, she decided to offer herself to be a volunteer at the vaccination centre.

“Since I have nothing much to do at home, I signed up to become a volunteer at the vaccination centre, so that I could contribute and help more people,” she said.

24-year-old Muhammad Faris Bin Ibrahim is studying chemical engineering at a local university. He returned to his hometown since the pandemic, and he always wanted to contribute to the society.

He applied to be a volunteer at a vaccination centre on the Penang Island but the vacancies were filled and he did not get a chance to serve. When he learnt that One Hope Charity was starting a new vaccination centre, he signed up as a volunteer immediately. He was recruited, and now he has the chance to serve the nation and the community.
