Together Fight with Covid-19! Delivery of a box of dry food via post to beneficiary who lived from hand-to-mouth.
Thong Jing Heen, a 6-year-old boy, was first time received a parcel in his life that full of dry food in 5 June 2021. The dry food box was sent from ONE HOPE CHARITY & Welfare. The box was filled with daily dry food products to help Thong Jing Heen and his family to solve the problem of hunger in this epidemic.
Thong Jing Heen and her mother, Thong Yoke Ling, were so happy after receiving the food box. Thong Jing Heen immediately requested his mother to record his voice message to thank you One Hope Charity & Welfare, as well as attached a photo with his big smile! The joyous voice of Thong Jing Heen thru the telephone voice made everyone happy.
Thong Jing Heen, from a single-parent family, lives in a village in Ipoh, Perak, with his mother and a 90-year-old grandfather. Before the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, this little boy lived as usual with his family, because his mother could go to the coffee shop to work as a dishwasher, earning a meagre income and receiving a RM100 monthly from the Social Welfare Malaysia to support the family. With the announcement of FMCO, the restaurant was unable to dine in and caused she loss the job and income. They only relied on the savings for daily meals and soon the family was about to run out of food. Then, they contact the hotline of One Hop Charity to seek for help thru a introduction of friend.
After receiving the food box from One Hope Charity, at the same day Thong Yoke Ling told the One Hope Charity’s volunteer that this box of food was like a big hope for them. She thought that only sent her some instant dry food would be enough to fill her hunger. When she opened the box, she was touched because the box contained full of dry foods which made her feel that "Make Every Moment Charity Perfect".
