Voon Yin Chong(71), a retired TCM doctor was saved from permanent paralysis by receiving therapy during the "golden hour." He was moved to the government hospital's general ward for recovery after safely completing the observation period.

The public's donations enabled the children's father to be sent to a specialized hospital for surgery in an emergency, and they are quite appreciative of that. His father may now resume his regular work and rest schedule after being freed from a permanent disability.

Voon Yin Chong sought emergency care at the sole specialized hospital on Penang Island that does mechanical thrombectomy. The recovery went well after surgery and was steady. On Sunday evening, he was returned to the government hospital for recovery after the observation period.

After that, he will require physical treatment and return to his pre-stroke routine shortly.
