10-Year-Old Son Bravely Donates Bone Marrow to Save Father; Single Father Battling Blood Cancer Receives RM60,000 in Stem Cell Collection Funds Raised in Just 1 hour 48 minutes
“I’m not scared. I want to save Daddy.” With this innocent yet determined voice, 10-year-old Leong Kun Xuan ignited a spark of hope for his father’s chance at survival.
The boy’s father, 29-year-old single dad Leong Jun Hao from Ipoh, Perak, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in August this year. After undergoing chemotherapy, doctors confirmed that a bone marrow transplant was his only chance to survive.
Determined to help his father regain his health, father and son faced these challenges together, showing the courage and strength of “a father and son united against blood cancer.”
Once the story was shared, people from all walks of life came forward to help. In just 1 hour 48 minutes, the RM60,000 needed for the stem cell collection was successfully raised. Leong Jun Hao and his family expressed heartfelt gratitude to every generous supporter.
Leong Jun Hao will now proceed to the bone marrow transplant stage, hoping for a smooth recovery and the chance to continue watching his son grow. They also hope their story of a father and son fighting cancer together will inspire courage, love, and hope to those who need it most.
