Urgent Fundraising – Ong Beng Liang (Accident)

Being fatherless and the only son to help the family, he works in Singapore to support his family. Unfortunately, he had an accident while on the way to work in the early morning; suspect inadequate rest and fatigue. Sustained serious head injuries and was now admitted to Changi General Hospital for emergency treatment needs RM400,000-00 to save his life. His family is now seeking for public generous support to help them overcome this huge expenses.

Ong Beng Liang 29 years old from Alor Setar was fatherless when he is still schooling. After graduating he started working and thought that his younger brother could share to support the family when he finished his schooling too. But unfortunately his brother passed away due to leukemia.

In order to support his family both he and his sister seek works in Singapore 5 years ago, while his elder sister is to stay in his hometown to take care of their mother.
Beng Liang works as Store Worker in Singapore. His working hours are from 8 am to 6 pm. To avoid the long queue at the custom border, he needs to cross over to Singapore in the early morning around 2 am from his Johor Bahru rented room by motorbike and arrived at his workplace around 4 am. He will then be able to take a nap before he starts work. Sometimes, he needs to do overtime until 10 pm and will reach home around 11 pm. He only sleeps about 2 to 3 hours before he starts his working journey again.

All these has caused him to lack of rest and over tired. On 2nd March 2017, he had a serious accident in Singapore at Loyang Avenue while riding a motorcycle on his way to work and sustained serious head injuries, he fainted on the spot.

When he was sending to Changi General Hospital, the doctor called the family to do the psychological preparation. The 4-day is critical period, if he didn?t wake up or will become coma. Finally he wake up after coma for 10 days, he undergone several times of operation including 3 head operation and a lung operation to save his life. His movement is partially disabled and needs further observation and care.

Due to Foreign Exchange Rate, his medical bills has hiked up drastically. As at 28th March, his medical bills has touched the amount of SGD 100,000-00. Excluding his company medical fund, he still needs RM400,000-00 for his medical expenses which are the expenses for another 2 weeks observation, physiotherapy, and transportation cost to bring him back to Malaysia.
