URGENT

"The pain of numerous injections and blood draws has been endured by him since he was only 1 years old plus, and it's not just the child who feels the pain but also the mother. We hope that the child can undergo surgery soon to overcome the entanglement of heart disease. Additionally, we wish for the child to grow up healthy without frequent hospitalizations, just like other children."

Muhammad Aathif Bin Afiq, a boy from Permatang Pauh, Penang, suffers from a heart condition with a hole, narrowed blood vessels, and cardiac swelling. Since birth, he has spent three months in the intensive care unit with the assistance of oxygen. Subsequently, to avoid oxygen deficiency, he was fed through a tube. The child does not exhibit any symptoms, no cyanosis, but there is a symptom of indentation in the diaphragm when breathing.

Due to the child's weak immune system from heart problems, frequent hospitalizations occur due to bacterial infections. Doctors have indicated the need for surgery within two months; otherwise, the child's chances of survival will diminish. However, the exorbitant surgery cost of RM85,000 has left the parents distressed.

【The mother herself also had a hole in her heart, but during her growth, two of the heart holes closed on their own. The remaining hole does not affect her daily life】

The mother herself had a heart defect with two heart holes during her growth, but two of the heart holes closed on their own, while another hole did not affect her daily life.

Muhd Aathif experienced significant medical challenges since birth, spending the first three months in the hospital's intensive care unit with the assistance of oxygen. Due to congenital heart issues, the child faced difficulties and infections, requiring multiple hospitalizations. The recent diagnosis indicates the urgent need for a surgical procedure within two months to secure the baby's future. The estimated cost of the surgery is RM85,000, causing distress for the parents.

The father, Afiq bin Othman (38 years old), works as a technician with a monthly salary of RM1,500. The mother, Siti Zuriaida bt Mohd Zulkafli (30 years old), has become a full-time homemaker to care for the sick child and their 7-year-old son. The family seeks assistance from the public and has entrusted the fundraising campaign to the ONE HOPE CHARITY to collect donations and manage the funds. One Hope Charity has allocated RM10,000 from the Emergency Medical Reserve to kickstart the fundraising efforts.
