Fetal umbilical cord entanglement led to an emergency induction to save the little life. The newborn boy, who appeared cyanotic all over, was diagnosed with a severe heart defect, requiring urgent surgery to sustain his life!

"If there's no surgery, the child won't live past six months. We truly don't have the means and implore everyone to help save our child!"

Muhammad Afwa Aryan Bin Muhd Afandi, from Sungai Petani, Kedah, is currently 3 weeks old and remains in the intensive care unit, relying on oxygen assistance due to the critical heart condition. The necessary surgery must be performed promptly; otherwise, it poses a threat to the little one's life. However, the substantial medical expenses are beyond the reach of the impoverished couple, pleading for assistance with the surgical cost of RM 102,000 to save their child.

【Despite enduring the pain of childbirth, the mother bravely visits the hospital to support and cheer on her child, facing all challenges with determination, hoping that the child can overcome this obstacle】

Muhammad Afwa Aryan, born on December 13, faced complications during childbirth. Despite normal prenatal check-ups, the umbilical cord was wrapped around the neck, leading to an emergency forceps delivery. The baby, not crying upon birth, was immediately placed in the intensive care unit. Oxygen levels in the baby's body dropped significantly, causing cyanosis. Detailed examinations confirmed Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA).

Due to the critical condition, the newborn currently relies on oxygen assistance and must undergo surgery urgently. The baby has been referred to a specialized hospital, where doctors emphasized the necessity of surgery within three weeks; otherwise, the chances of survival beyond six months are slim. The exorbitant cost of the surgery has left the parents in distress, especially considering their existing financial burdens.

The father, Muhd Afandi Bin Md Yusof (33 years old), is a civil servant with a monthly salary of RM2539. The mother, Abyan Binti Samsuri (29 years old), is a housewife, and the couple has two other sons aged 7 and 4. Monthly expenses, including car and home loans, already exceed their income, making it impossible for them to bear the substantial medical expenses. Therefore, they have sought assistance from the One Hope Charity.

After a home visit and verification, One Hope Charity has decided to raise funds for the required medical expenses for the newborn. The parents have agreed to entrust the fundraising activities to the One Hope Charity, which will also handle the collection of donations. An amount of RM10,000 will be disbursed from the "Emergency Medical Reserve Fund" for this case.
