His lips and body would turn cyanotic as he drank milk. The doctor’s examination showed that the newborn had severe congenital heart disease. To avoid burdening his heart when he drinks milk, the 10-month-old baby has been feeding on a tube since birth.

After nine years of marriage and infertility, the parents finally welcomed their first child. However, the now ten-month-old baby boy, Muhammad Aliff Uwais Bin Munir Ezzuany, urgently needs to undergo life-saving surgery to avoid heart failure at any time.

His novice mother, who lives in Bayan Lepas, Penang, has shed tears every day since she gave birth to the child. However, she later accepted the facts and learned to change the feeding tube for her son every ten days. She also learned to stay strong to complete her tasks as a mother despite feeling sad seeing her son cry in pain. She claimed she was not a good mother, but she really hoped her son could get rid of the pain. The distraught parents begged the public to help with the RM70,000 surgical expenses.

【The heart of the baby with congenital heart disease would stop at any time due to overloading if he did not undergo surgery. His parents were worried, and they could not even enjoy their Hari Raya Aidilfitri】

A couple was married and infertile for nine years before the wife was pregnant with a boy. The mother went to a government hospital for routine check-ups during her pregnancy, and the fetus was normal. As the mother had gestational diabetes, the doctor arranged for her admission to the hospital two weeks before her estimated due date. In one of the prenatal examinations, the doctor discovered the fetus’ heartbeat was weak and decided to perform an emergency caesarean section.

The baby was 2.8kg, and he did not show any signs of heart disease at birth. However, on the third day, the newborn’s body turned cyanotic when his novice mother breastfed him. The mother was shocked. The doctor examined and confirmed that the baby had Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect (PmVSD) and two holes in his heart. The doctor transferred the newborn to the intensive care unit for observation and treatment. The doctor also told the parents they had to wait for the baby to grow up before surgery. The newborn was admitted for a month and allowed to discharge afterwards. He has been relying on medications to control his condition.

And now, the bay is ten months old. It is time for him to undergo surgery. The doctor referred him to a specialist hospital for treatment, and the doctor said that the baby needed surgery as soon as possible; otherwise, his life would be at stake. However, the parents could not afford the substantial surgical fee of RM70,000. Hence, they approached One Hope Charity for help.

The baby boy’s 36-year-old father, Munir Ezzuany Bin Ahmad, is a food delivery man, earning about RM3,000 a month. His 35-year-old mother, Rohaida Binti Mohamed Razami, is a housewife.

After reviewing the case following a home visit, One Hope Charity decided to assist the boy in raising RM70,000 for his surgery. His family agreed to fully authorise One Hope Charity to take charge of the fundraising and collect donations from the well-wishers on their behalf.
