A 66-year-old man suffered from myocardial angina. On admission, he was diagnosed with 49% and 50% blockage of two blood vessels in his heart. The situation was serious and urgent. One Hope Charity allocated RM15,000 from the Emergency Medical Reserve Fund to subsidise his medical expenses so that he could undergo the life-saving surgery within the golden window.

Abdul Halim Bin Abdul Rahim from Perak suffered from myocardial angina a year ago. After going to Perak General Hospital for examination, he was confirmed to have blocked heart vessels. The hospital referred him to Penang General Hospital for surgery scheduled for October this year.

During this period, he suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital 4 times. During a recent echocardiogram, two vessels were discovered to be 49% and 50% occluded.

Due to the seriousness of the condition, the hospital arranged for him to go to the National Heart Center (IJN) for an examination, and arranged for him to undergo surgery on the 9th of this month at a cost of RM15,000.

Abdul Halim has retired and his wife (63 years old) is a housewife with 4 children.

Their children could only afford the expenses for his medication and follow-up visits. The family was very grateful to One Hope Charity for its help in supporting the remaining surgical costs, which allowed Abdul Halim to undergo a successful surgery.

ONE HOPE CHARITY determined the surgery fee needed for assistance. We did not start fundraising because the surgery fee was less than RM20,000. Instead, it made good use of the usual well-meaning donations to assist Abdul Halim.
