【Medical Assistance-Ostomy Bag and Catheter】An octogenarian woman suffering from urinary tract cancer requires a lifelong colostomy bag and urinary catheter after surgery. ONE HOPE CHARITY provides monthly assistance for colostomy bags, urinary catheters, and food supplies.

The husband passed away due to prostate cancer, leaving an octogenarian woman battling urinary tract cancer. Her unmarried son, who is her sole caregiver, must tend to her daily needs. From the "Emergency Medical Reserve Fund," ONE HOPE CHARITY has allocated RM25,630.80 to assist the elderly woman for a period of 25 months with colostomy bags and urinary catheters, aiming to lighten the burden on her son.

Suan Chooi Lian @ Soon Chooi Lian, an 80-year-old Chinese woman from Penang, was diagnosed with urinary tract cancer in 2019. She underwent surgery to remove the urinary tract, after which she requires lifelong use of colostomy bags and urinary catheters.

Unfortunately, on the day of her surgery, her husband passed away due to prostate cancer, and her unmarried son (60 years old) took on the responsibility of caring for his mother.

After quitting his job two years ago, the son became a full-time caregiver for his mother. They lost their financial stability and initially relied on savings to get by. Currently, they depend on a monthly welfare assistance of RM500 to sustain their livelihood.

Upon receiving the elderly woman's application, ONE HOPE CHARITY conducted a home visit and subsequently approved her request.
