【Medical Assistance - Intraocular Injection】A 64-year-old Chinese man suffering from chronic eye disease, unable to afford the cost of medication injections, receives assistance from the foundation for intraocular injection.

A 64-year-old man, Leong Kwan Yoong, from Balik Pulau, Penang, is suffering from wet macular degeneration in his left eye. The bleeding of the optic nerve requires an intraocular injection. The foundation allocated RM3,600 from the 'Emergency Medical Fund' to support him with the intraocular injection.

Before the Movement Control Order (MCO), Leong Kwan Yoong started experiencing blurred vision in his left eye. As the condition worsened earlier this year, he sought medical examination, revealing wet macular degeneration. Bleeding of the optic nerve in the eye necessitates intraocular injections to prevent potential heart issues.

A former fish vendor driver, Leong Kwan Yoong had to stop working due to health problems before the MCO. His 51-year-old wife is currently assisting in a cooking stall, earning a monthly income of RM1,400. The couple has three daughters, with the eldest working as a telecommunication shop assistant, the second daughter managing household chores due to learning difficulties, and the youngest attending Form 3.

Living in a housing flat, the family's monthly expenses include house mortgage and maintenance fees, sustained by the modest incomes of the wife and eldest daughter.

Upon receiving the plea for assistance, ONE HOPE CHARITY conducted a home visit, and the board decided to aid Leong Kwan Yoong with the intraocular injection.
