【Medical Assistance-angiogram】A 41-year-old single mother has been hospitalized multiple times since last year due to angina, with the hospital scheduling in-depth examinations for as late as March next year. She is worried that she might not have the time for the examination before a heart attack occurs

A 41-year-old single mother, who has been raising four children on her own after divorcing her husband, has been hospitalized multiple times since last year due to angina. The hospital has scheduled in-depth examinations as late as March next year. She is worried that she might not have time for the examination before a heart attack occurs. One Hope Charity allocated RM4,825.30 from the "Emergency Medical Fund" to enable her to undergo angiogram.

Noor Suriyani Binti Wahab, who resides in Bukit Mertajam, was diagnosed with heart disease six years ago after experiencing angina. She had been managing her condition by taking medication. However, her health has deteriorated since July 2022, and frequent hospital visits have affected her work and income.

One of Noor Suriyani's relatives left this world a few months ago because they couldn't wait for their scheduled examination. She doesn't want to follow in their footsteps, but her examination date has been scheduled for next March, leaving her deeply concerned.

She has four children, aged 17, 16, 13, and 9, all of whom are still studying. She used to work as a chef in a factory cafeteria, earning a monthly salary of RM2,300. However, frequent sick leaves resulted in her demotion to a kitchen assistant, with her salary reduced to RM1,800.

"I am a single mother, and if something were to happen to me one day, what would happen to my four children? I'm afraid I won't make it to the day of the examination. I hope everyone can help me."

She hopes that after resolving her heart condition, her children can return to school, and she can work to support her family.

As the assistance amount does not exceed RM20,000, One Hope Charity has not initiated a fundraising campaign. Instead, they have wisely used the Emergency Medical Fund donations from the general public to cover the examination costs. If people find that their friends or family members require medical equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, oxygen machines, special milk powder, diapers, etc., they can apply to One Hope Charity for assistance.
