【Medical Assistance - Heart Surgery Expenses】58-year-old postman experienced sudden chest pain while on duty. Examination revealed blockages in 4 heart arteries. One Hope Charity assisted with the remaining RM5000 needed for the surgery expenses.

The 58-year-old postman, Kadershah Bin Latiff, from George Town, Penang, who has been working at Pos Malaysia for 30 years, faced a sudden medical emergency on December 29th last year while delivering mail. He experienced chest pain and immediately sought rest by the roadside before notifying his family. He was subsequently rushed to the hospital for examination.

Following a cardiac angiography, doctors discovered that he had four blocked arteries and required immediate coronary artery bypass surgery. Additionally, he was diagnosed with hypertension and high cholesterol during his hospitalization, on top of his existing diabetes, and began medication to manage these conditions.

His 53-year-old wife is a housewife who previously worked as a factory operator. The couple has two children, one currently unemployed and the other just beginning a new job. They reside in a government flat and bear monthly expenses for rent and car loan payments.

With the family only able to afford RM20,000 for the heart surgery, they applied for assistance from the hospital's welfare department but were still short of RM5,000. Seeking further assistance, they approached One Hope Charity, which after conducting a home visit and review, allocated RM5,000 from its "Emergency Medical Reserve Fund" to aid Kadershah in completing his heart surgery.

One Hope Charity expressed gratitude to the public for their generous donations, enabling the postman, who tirelessly navigates the streets, to swiftly address his heart condition. Kadershah was granted permission to return home for recuperation on January 9th.
