The 79-year-old Chinese man, Mok Soo Hah, who lives alone and is experiencing worsening hearing loss in both ears, has been advised by doctors to use hearing aids. One Hope Charity has approved assistance for the elderly man in the form of a pair of hearing aids, enabling him to regain his hearing and become more self-reliant.
Mok Soo Hah, residing with a friend in Bukit Mertajam, has been dealing with hypertension, diabetes, and severe hearing loss for many years. One Hope Charity had previously provided him with food aid last year. In November of the same year, his hearing loss worsened, and after seeking medical advice, the doctor recommended hearing aids for both ears. Consequently, he applied to One Hope Charity for assistance again.
Currently relying on monthly assistance from the Welfare Department to sustain his living, his savings have almost depleted, making it impossible for him to afford the cost of hearing aids. After a thorough review, One Hope Charity has approved his application and allocated RM5,400 from the 'Emergency Medical Reserve Fund' to help him regain his hearing.
