Chu Bak Khoon's life experiences have been filled with challenges and resilience. In 2015, he suffered a stroke, which left his left side less agile. Three years later, he was injured in a car accident, resulting in a displaced spine and the presence of bone spurs. Despite doctors recommending surgical treatment, he chose to decline it due to concerns about post-operative care.

He has been living alone in a rural wooden house for 12 years. Prior to his stroke, he worked as a freelance construction worker. Currently, he relies on assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and earns a meager income by collecting and selling paper scraps. Additionally, he lacks transportation and depends on walking or the help of friends to get around.

Upon learning of his plight, One Hope Charity sent representatives to visit him. One Hope Charity decided to provide him with compassionate food aid to ensure he does not go hungry.
