Mohana Dasan A/L Govindan, a 55-year-old man from Jawi, Penang, suffered a spinal fracture in a car accident 15 years ago, rendering him unable to care for himself. He remained bedridden for a year, with his wife taking care of his daily activities. After several years of recuperate, he is now able to walk slowly with the aid of a walker but still requires the use of diapers.

Before the accident, he worked as a contract lorry driver in an oil palm plantation. Since the accident, he has been unable to work. Due to his physical disability resulting from the accident, he holds an OKU card and receives financial assistance of RM450 monthly from the social welfare department.

His 49-year-old wife works as a dishwasher in a coffee shop, earning a daily wage of RM50. She also takes on part-time shifts as a replacement security guard, earning RM60 per shift.

The couple has three children. Their 30-year-old eldest daughter and 26-year-old second daughter are both married, each with their own family responsibilities and children to raise.
