The 59-year-old woman, Ong Siew Choo, from Bayan Lepas, Penang, has been diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, with cancer cells spreading to her lungs, liver, and spinal bones. Doctors have advised her to stop working during her cancer treatment. She has been using her EPF (Employees Provident Fund) savings to cover all the expenses incurred during her cancer treatment. In response to her application for assistance, our foundation has provided aid in the form of dry rations to alleviate the burden on her family.

Prior to her diagnosis, Ong Siew Choo worked as a secretary in a company. In December 2020, she began experiencing frequent back pain and breathlessness when climbing stairs. After a series of examinations, she was confirmed to have stage IV breast cancer and was subsequently advised by doctors to stop working. She has since undergone radiotherapy and chemotherapy as per the doctor's recommendations.

Her husband works as a lathe worker with a meager income. The couple has two children, a son who is currently unemployed and a daughter who works as a secretary in a company. Although her husband and daughter also contribute to the family's income, and she receives some assistance from social insurance every month, the substantial monthly medical expenses have left the family in financial strain.

Upon receiving her request for help, ONE HOPE CHARITY sent representatives for a home visit and subsequently approved aid in the form of dry rations for her.
