Two siblings suffered strokes within three months of each other, both requiring assistance with feeding, suctioning, and diaper changing. The 55-year-old sister, Phoon Lai Fun, from Ayer Itam, Penang, resigned from her job to care for her brother and sister. With the economic strain on the family, the foundation provided assistance with milk powder and diapers.

Phoon Lai Fun, a part-time supermarket promoter, decided to leave her job to care for her 60-year-old single brother, who suffered a stroke at the end of March last year and now requires assistance with daily activities. Despite receiving timely medical attention, her brother, while able to sit and stand, remains unable to care for himself.

Unexpectedly, their 58-year-old sister suffered a stroke in early May of the same year, missing the critical window for emergency intervention. She is currently bedridden and relies on a nasal tube for nutritional supplements as recommended by a dietitian. The sister has a daughter who provides some caregiving funds each month, helping to alleviate their financial burden.

Lai Fun and her husband, who have no children of their own, depend on her niece's caregiving allowance of approximately RM1,200 per month and her brother's RM500 welfare aid to cover their monthly expenses. With Lai Fun being unemployed for over a year, significant expenses quickly depleted their savings.

Upon receiving the request for assistance, ONE HOPE CHARITY conducted a home visit and decided to provide support by supplying milk powder and diapers, easing their financial burden.
