69-year-old Indian barber, Raman A/L Thairumalai from Bukit Mertajam, has been working in the barber industry for many years. Since 2020, due to the impact of movement control orders, his income has decreased, leading the family into financial difficulties.

The couple has a 34-year-old disabled son, who is taken care of by his wife at home. The son has been suffering from asthma for the past 11 years, requiring the use of an inhaler during asthma attacks. While the son can manage some tasks and clean up, he still needs his mother to feed him.

Living frugally, the elderly man travels to work by bicycle and relies on the meager income from his barber shop. His son takes the bus for medical check-ups at the hospital. Monthly expenses include rent and shop rental for the barber shop, and the family relies solely on the modest income from the barber shop.

Upon receiving the request for assistance, ONE HOPE CHARITY dispatched representatives for a home visit and decided to provide food assistance to alleviate the family's burden.
