62-year-old Sen Chee Yoong from Butterworth, Penang, lives alone in the ancestral home left by his father. Last year, during a shower, he accidentally used dishwashing liquid as shampoo, resulting in damage to both his eyes. He was rushed to a nearby clinic for examination and then transferred to the hospital for treatment. Despite efforts, only his left eye was saved, while his right eye was permanently blinded.

Before one crisis could settle, another arose. In March of this year, while riding his bicycle on the road, Sen Chee Yoong was unfortunately hit by a car and lost consciousness on the roadside. He was taken to a nearby government clinic for treatment. This accident resulted in injuries to his head, spinal bones, and right foot. He received 8 stitches on his head, and the spinal injury led to a hunched back. The wound on his right ankle is difficult to heal due to diabetes. To prevent bacterial infections, he constantly bandages the wound and cleans it himself.

Before the accident, he made a living by collecting recyclables and could only earn about RM20 a day. Divorced from his wife for many years and with no children, he has also lost contact with his sister and her family.

Upon receiving the plea for help, the One Hope Charity conducted a home visit and approved providing him with food aid.
