The 70-year-old single elderly man, Tan Meng Hong, resides alone in the wooden house left by his father in Bukit Mertajam. Despite the dilapidated condition of the house, Tan Meng Hong refuses to relocate and relies on occasional assistance from friends to make ends meet.

Tan Meng Hong worked in a factory during his younger years and managed his expenses in retirement with savings from his provident fund. Additionally, he took up some cleaning odd jobs to earn a meager living. However, his provident fund has now been depleted, leading him to seek assistance from the Social Welfare Department, and he occasionally receives help from friends.

The current state of his wooden house is severely rundown, with several large holes in the structure. The house only has a shower room, and the toilet is constructed outside, covered by a roof made of two rusty and worn-out zinc sheets.

Upon receiving Tan Meng Hong's plea for help, One Hope Charity conducted a home visit and decided to provide him with food aid to help prevent hunger and alleviate his challenging living conditions.
