The 51-year-old security guard, Zareezol Bin Zainun, from Perai, Penang, is worried about the expenses for his granddaughter’s milk powder and diapers. His wife, who used to be a security guard as well, became a homemaker to take care of their 15-month-old granddaughter for about a year, has resulted in a loss of one income source.

"Our life is modest but manageable. However, after our son-in-law passed away in a car accident, we lost a source of income, and providing formula milk for our granddaughter has become a challenge."

The expenses of the granddaughter’s milk powder and diapers was originally borne by the daughter and son-in-law. Unexpectedly, the son-in-law who also worked as a security guard, passed away in a car accident last April. The expenses for the granddaughter’s necessities are now covered by Zareezol and his daughter; the wife has resigned from her job for about a year to take care of the granddaughter at home.

Zareezol and his wife have three children. Currently, the family of six resides in a flat, and they have to cover a monthly rent of RM750 and a motorcycle loan.

Upon receiving the request for assistance, One Hope Charity sent representatives to conduct a home visit. The board of directors decided to provide assistance with the granddaughter’s milk powder and diapers to alleviate their financial burden.
