A dutiful teenager, who has been upholding the family’s responsibility ever since his father’s accident, was unfortunately passed away due to a traffic accident while on his way to work.

The day of Guhanes A/L Jeevan’s death also marked his 17th birthday.

Guhanes’s family has been working on cutting oil palms for a living in Perak. However, his father was caught in a car accident and unable to use his arms and legs. Hence, Guhanes dropped out from school and took up the role of cutting oil palms with his brother to earn the family’s living expenses.

According to his father, their family income is around RM1,700 to take care of his family of nine, which also includes his wife and the seven children. He said that Guhanes and his brother are the breadwinners of the family as the other five children are still pursuing their studies.

The family were left in tears having to face the fact that their son was killed while on his way to work to sustain the family. Because of their current family income, they could not afford their child’s funeral expenses.

After learning about the tragedy of this family, the One Hope Charity and Welfare decided to help them deal with the child's afterlife.

With the help of the benevolent people with their generous donations, the association was able to reduce the family’s financial burden and allowed their dutiful child to be put to eternal rest in peace.

In January (until today, January 27), One Hope Charity handled a total of 9 funeral and burial Assistances cases.

The fund are from the daily donations from the generous public. The assistances given will follow the religion of the deceased or the requirement of the family.
