A 68-year-old man was bedridden after having a stroke attack. In order to ease the economic burden of his wife, the Association has been supplying adult diapers to them. Unfortunately, the man passed away yesterday, and the Association hoped to utilise the donation fund from the general public to provide him a coffin and arrange his funeral, so that he may rest in eternal peace.

In 2015, Loo Hock Ong from Seberang Jaya, Penang was hit with a stroke. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment and was discharged 8 days later. His wife wanted to send him to a nursing home, but due to the heavy expenses, he was brought back home and hired their Indonesian neighbor to watch over him. His wife hired her to take care of his husband while she went out to work.

Before Loo Hock Ong had a stroke, he used to work as a delivery truck driver, but he has no children to take over his job. Now that he is bedridden, his wife has to bear all the financial burden working as a teacher in a special needs centre, with a meager salary of RM1,200 per month. Due to her husband requiring a lot of adult diapers, the wife approached One Hope Charity in hopes to ease her financial burden.

After going through reviews and home visits, the Association agreed to provide the family the needed adult diapers. It is until Loo Hock Ong has passed away, the wife also requested One Hope Charity to take full rights of arranging his funeral.

The Association will arrange Loo Hock Ong’s funeral procession according to his religious beliefs, so that he may rest in peace. The funds used for the funeral are sourced from the donations received from the public.

The wife is deeply appreciated for the kind-hearted donors for providing the family the needed support during her tough times, from supplying the needed adult diapers, to  providing a coffin and a proper funeral.

After the wife has completed the final processions for her late husband, the remaining funds received during the funeral were donated back to the Association, in hopes that the fund could benefit the next family in need.
