Chan Boon Teik, a 65-year-old man from Kulim, Kedah, suffered from depression after he had problems with his business few years ago. As his condition worsened, his family had to settle him in a mental care centre in Ipoh, Perak.

A few months ago, Mr Chan’s health gradually deteriorated. He was bedridden and could only be fed through a feeding tube. He recently died in the care centre due to his worsening condition.

Mr Chan has two unmarried daughters. His eldest daughter has started work, and the youngest daughter is still studying. In recent years, the eldest daughter has been paying for the family‘s expenditures and Mr Chan’s expenses at the care centre.

Facing the passing of Mr Chan, the family has no extra savings to deal with his funeral. After receiving assistance request from the family, One Hope Charity contacted the undertaker immediately to send his body from Ipoh to Kulim for the funeral.

One Hope Charity gathers the general donations from the public to help Mr Chan with his funeral. Thanks to the generous donations from the public, One Hope Charity can help more families in need and lonely elderly to deal with their final journey of life. The public who are interested in making a general donation can do it at any time. It is a long-term assistance that will be provided in case of emergency.
