A 58-year-old Chinese prisoner, Lee Ee Tiek, who began serving his sentence in prison in December 2022, passed away in the hospital due to tongue cancer. After prison officials, despite multiple attempts, failed to reach his family for a response, they reached out to the One Hope Charity to seek assistance in handling the deceased's affairs.

It has been understood that the body has been held in the mortuary for over two weeks without anyone coming forward to claim it. In response to the prison's request, One Hope Charity promptly coordinated with local undertakers to negotiate the release of the body and manage the posthumous arrangements.

Utilizing donations from the pu blic, specifically earmarked for "coffin and funeral services," One Hope Charity has taken care of the deceased's affairs, including providing a coffin, cremation, and acquiring a niche for the ashes.

Thanks to the regular donations from the public, One Hope Charity can promptly assist more needy families and elderly individuals in handling their affairs after their passing. Those interested in contributing can donate at any time, as this support is ongoing to meet unforeseen needs.

Additionally, if there are impoverished families who cannot manage post-mortem arrangements for their deceased relatives or single elderly individuals who need pre-registration assistance, they can contact ONE HOPE CHARITY's hotline for help at 016-920 2920, 016-419 2192, or 04-539 9212.
