During the Chinese New Year, Lim Siew Wei, a 61-year-old Chinese woman, fell and hurt her head at home. She was taken to the hospital for stitches, kept there for a few days for observation, and then given permission to discharge.

The family believed everything was okay until she developed a sudden high fever a few days ago. They took her to the hospital, where doctors discovered she had a bacterial infection. After receiving treatment for a few days, she passed away.

The husband of Lim Siew Wei works irregular hours, and the only child of the couple works as a hawker stall assistant. The father and son's meagre income is insufficient to pay for the funeral costs.

The son can only seek help from One Hope Charity through his uncle in Bukit Mertajam. After understanding the situation, One Hope Charity gathered donations from all the people to deal with all the affairs of the deceased and buy more columbaria for the deceased.

If there are any poor or needy who could not afford and manage the funeral for their loved ones, or there are any elderly living alone who are interested in registering for the “Promise of the Last Journey” programme, kindly contact ONE HOPE CHARITY at 016-419 2192, 019-232 2192 or 04-539 9212 for help.
