71-year-old bachelor Mah Kim Swee from Kelantan, who was unable to care for himself due to old age and frailty, was brought to Penang by his niece for better care. She financed his stay in a nursing home in Penang, allowing him to spend his twilight years in comfort.

The niece, who had just started working, found that most of her salary was being used to cover the expenses of the nursing home. With Mah Kim Swee's passing, she lacked the extra funds to arrange his funeral. Hence, she sought assistance from One Hope Charity.

Upon receiving the niece's plea for help, One Hope Charity coordinated with funeral service providers and rallied donations from the public to provide Mah Kim Swee with a coffin, purchase a niche for his ashes, and handle all funeral arrangements.

One Hope Charity effectively utilized donations from the public, typically allocated for funeral expenses, to manage the affairs after his passing, including the coffin, funeral rites, procession, cremation, and a niche for his ashes.

Thanks to the regular donations from the public, One Hope Charity can promptly assist more needy families and elderly individuals in handling their affairs after their passing. Those interested in contributing can donate at any time, as this support is ongoing to meet unforeseen needs.

Additionally, if there are impoverished families who cannot manage post-mortem arrangements for their deceased relatives or single elderly individuals who need pre-registration assistance, they can contact ONE HOPE CHARITY's hotline for help at 016-920 2920, 016-419 2192, or 04-539 9212.
