84-year-old Ooi Chin Liong, from one of the families supported by One Hope Charity, passed away peacefully at home recently due to age-related frailty. His son had been paralyzed for an extended period, and his only granddaughter is still pursuing her education.

One Hope Charity initiated a fundraising campaign for the Ooi family in October 2022, as the grandfather (now deceased, Ooi Chin Liong) was taking care of the paralyzed son, and the granddaughter was partially working to support the family. Following One Hope Charity's intervention, the paralyzed son was placed in a nursing home with dedicated care, allowing the granddaughter to focus on her education.

A few months ago, the elderly man was hospitalized due to health issues, and One Hope Charity provided financial assistance for his medical expenses. After his health deteriorated, he passed away at home.

Upon receiving the news of Mr. Ooi's passing, One Hope Charity dispatched a representative to assist the granddaughter in handling the arrangements related to her grandfather's passing.

One Hope Charity promotes the "Promise of the last journey" care plan, allowing elderly individuals without family support to register in advance. This way, One Hope Charity can fulfill their funeral wishes after their passing.

Thanks to the regular donations from the public, the foundation can promptly assist more needy families and elderly individuals in handling their affairs after their passing. Those interested in contributing can donate at any time, as this support is ongoing to meet unforeseen needs.

Additionally, if there are impoverished families who cannot manage post-mortem arrangements for their deceased relatives or single elderly individuals who need pre-registration assistance, they can contact ONE HOPE CHARITY's hotline for help at 016-920 2920, 016-419 2192, or 04-539 9212.
