Teh Koay Boon, a 44-year-old bachelor, was discovered dead in his home's bathroom a few days earlier. According to the police investigation, he died for over three days.

Because of financial constraints, the deceased's relatives received a free offer from an undertaker at the hospital mortuary. The undertaker arranged for the cremation directly after the family members agreed, and did not prepare for the recovery of money or the placement of ashes.

When the families in Bukit Mertajam learned of the event, they went to the service center of ONE HOPE CHARITY to apply for the columbarium and chanting ritual for the deceased. Collect regular donations from everyone, purchase a columbarium for the dead, and request the master to come and chant sutras so that the deceased will be free of pain and joyful to be reincarnated in the pure land as soon as possible.

ONE HOPE CHARITY not only distributes coffins to the deceased, but also assists family members in handling funerals, cremation, collecting gold, and placing them in the pagoda. Some of the deceased’s families were impoverished. After the foundation visited the home to understand and audit, it would sponsor and provide dry food and daily medical supplies for the sick elders and young children at home.

If there are any poor or needy who could not afford and manage the funeral for their loved ones, or there are any elderly living alone who are interested in registering for the “Promise of the Last Journey” programme, kindly contact ONE HOPE CHARITY at 016-920 2920, 016-419 2192 or 04-539 9212 for help.
