Today, on February 29th, International Rare Disease Day, One Hope Charity announced the allocation of RM100,000 as genetic testing fees, offering hope and care to rare disease patients!

In a significant event hosted by the Genetics Department of Penang General Hospital, patients' families, healthcare professionals, and volunteers gathered to convey love and support for rare disease patients.

During his invited speech, Dato' Chua Sui Hau, the chairman of One Hope Charity, announced a RM 100,000 grant to the hospital's Genetics Department. This fund will be used for genetic testing of rare disease patients from low-income families. This signifies that more patients will receive accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans, bringing new hope and change to their lives.

The event also invited rare disease patients and their families to participate. It was touching to see some children bravely take to the stage, showcasing their vitality and courage. Their smiles and efforts remind us of the resilience and beauty of life.
