After a considerable wait, Jayden Lim Ze Jun successfully secured an arrangement with the hospital and underwent the official bilateral cochlear implant surgery. Following several hours of anxious waiting by his parents, the surgery was declared successful, and he was discharged two days later. Approximately ten days after the surgery, he returned to the hospital for activation and completed the initial tuning.

Mother Lim Jo Lene revealed that Jayden showed clear curiosity and enjoyment in the environment filled with various sounds. However, he will need time to adapt to a more vivid auditory world compared to when he used hearing aids.

"Thank you all for helping my children! I will continually remind them of the kindness and assistance they've received. We sincerely appreciate everyone."

Before the surgery, 5-year-old Jayden had approximately 35-40% hearing in his right ear and only about 15% in his left ear. He required hearing aids in both ears to hear sounds, but even then, he struggled to fully comprehend, especially high-pitched sounds. His ability to engage in conversations was limited to a few words, and he couldn't process overly long sentences at once.

Jayden's younger sister, Jaylene (3 years old), underwent bilateral cochlear implant surgery with the assistance of One Hope Charity in November of the previous year. She now enjoys good hearing, not only responding to family calls but also picking up higher-frequency sounds like vacuum cleaners.
