Three years ago, the elderly man noticed a gradual decline in his visual acuity. Following a meticulous assessment by the ophthalmology department of a government hospital, the diagnosis revealed the imperative need for cataract removal surgery to avert further visual deterioration.

Hailing from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Chua Ewe Huat, 75, underwent cataract removal surgery this past March, albeit at a public hospital. However, he was required to personally cover the costs associated with the lens implantation.

Having lost his wife eight years ago and with his three children's earnings being unpredictable, Chua Ewe Huat found himself with modest savings. Consequently, he turned to our foundation for assistance.

In response to his plea for aid, representatives from the One Hope Charity in Bukit Mertajam conducted a home visit. Subsequently, the board of directors approved the sponsorship of the expenses pertaining to the required lens implantation surgery.
