One Hope Charity has donated medical equipment and hardware facilities worth a total of RM 139,575 to the newly established ophthalmology clinic at Bukit Mertajam Hospital. This contribution aims to improve the hospital's medical services and benefit a larger number of patients with eye disorders.
Bukit Mertajam Hospital has long had an ophthalmology department, but due to the high number of patients with eye disorders, the previous space became insufficient. In order to better serve the community, the hospital has decided to establish this new ophthalmology clinic, marking a significant step in the development of Bukit Mertajam Hospital in the field of eye health.
As it is a new clinic, One Hope Charity donated medical equipment and hardware facilities to ensure the clinic can commence operations as soon as possible.
The donated medical equipment includes a digital slit lamp (LED Slit Lamp) and Vantage wireless indirect ophthalmoscope.
The digital slit lamp (LED Slit Lamp) is an efficient ophthalmic examination device that provides clear and accurate images of the fundus through adjustable illumination and magnification functions. This aids healthcare professionals in more precise diagnosis of eye diseases.
The Vantage wireless indirect ophthalmoscope is a modern ophthalmic technology that allows doctors to wirelessly transmit and observe the patient's fundus, enhancing the convenience and flexibility of eye examinations.
Additionally, One Hope Charity also donated hardware facilities such as iron cabinets, office desks, cabinets, chairs, and waiting chairs to improve the operational efficiency of the ophthalmology clinic.
The handover ceremony took place smoothly last Saturday (January 20) and was witnessed by the Minister of Human Resources and Member of Parliament for Bukit Mertajam, Steven Sim.
