A single woman, diagnosed with advanced breast cancer that had spread to her lungs, had completed chemotherapy at a central hospital late last year. However, she frequently struggled with breathing difficulties and had to make frequent visits to the hospital.

Lechmi A/P Vettai, a 68-year-old Indian woman from Batu Kawan, Penang, recently had to be hospitalized due to recurring breathing problems. Her doctors recommended the use of an oxygen machine to ensure she received an adequate supply of oxygen.

She had worked as a cleaner for a period of 30 years, but an accident 15 years ago resulted in a hand fracture, forcing her to stop working. She has been relying on welfare assistance from the Social Welfare Department to cover her monthly living expenses.

Upon receiving her plea for help, One Hope Charity conducted a home visit. Following deliberation by the board of directors, they decided to lend her an oxygen machine. This assistance enables her to breathe normally with the help of the oxygen machine and ensures she enjoys a more peaceful night's sleep.
