Some of them are paralyzed and bedridden for a long time due to stroke, some have blurred vision due to eye disease and need surgery, some have no food to eat, and some are lonely and helpless couples looking for help. They are all vulnerable groups waiting for help from the society!

In the first five months (Jan-May) of 2023, ONE HOPE CHARITY has assisted a total of 167 vulnerable groups, with a total of RM220,528.02.

A total of 26 cases were assisted in January, 28 cases in February, 41 cases in March, 33 cases in April and 39 cases in May this year. Assistance items include artificial limbs, CPAP ventilator, cataract surgery, hearing aids, dry food, medical expenses, wound washing expenses, physical therapy expenses, wound medicine expenses, special milk powder, diapers, hospital beds, wheelchairs, walking aids, commode chairs, special insoles and other assistance.

These seemingly insignificant aids are a burden on vulnerable families while also providing vital assistance. ONE HOPE CHARITY will review each case through home visits, and assistance will be provided only when it is determined that there is a genuine need.

Thanks to the public's generous donations, ONE HOPE CHARITY can continue to assist them. ONE HOPE CHARITY has compiled a sample of assistance cases:

77-year-old Lim Yuet Meng's right eye began to blur 3 years ago. Last year, he was checked by the eye disease department of the health carnival organized by ONE HOPE CHARITY and confirmed that cataracts affected his vision. ONE HOPE CHARITY assisted him with the operation fee to allow him to undergo cataract surgery.

Tan Ah Soon, 68, experienced blurred vision in his right eye two years ago. In October of last year, he went to a government hospital for an examination and was diagnosed with choroidal neovascularization. The eyes are swollen and watery, and injections are required, but each medicine costs between RM1,200 and RM1,400, and the association will cover the costs.

Shatiyasilan, a 39-year-old Indian man, has been on dialysis for 14 years. The doctor informed him that the blood vessel in his left hand had become blocked and that he needed AV Fistula surgery in his right hand. He is currently receiving dialysis through the neck. ONE HOPE CHARITY helped him with the RM5,459 operation fee.

In general, for cases that need assistance of not more than RM20,000, One Hope Charity will not initiate fundraising but would make good use of public donations to help those who are in need.
