58-year-old Tan Bak Chye from Bagan Serai, Perak, experienced persistent knee pain in his right knee since November last year. After undergoing X-ray examinations, the doctor administered knee joint injections and prescribed medications to manage the condition. However, with no improvement in his condition over the following months and the pain affecting his ability to work, he revisited the hospital. The doctor recommended a total knee replacement surgery.

Currently employed at a supermarket, where he is responsible for organizing shopping carts and maintaining cleanliness, Tan Bak Chye earns a monthly salary of RM1550. He provides some living expenses for his 54-year-old wife, who is a housewife caring for their elderly mother-in-law. The couple has a daughter studying in a secondary school. The entire family relies on Tan Bak Chye's sole income to make ends meet.

Upon receiving the plea for assistance, One Hope Charity conducted a home visit, and after deliberation, the board decided to allocate RM10,000 from the "Emergency Medical Fund" to support Tan Bak Chye in undergoing the necessary total knee replacement surgery, alleviating the joint pain he is experiencing.
