A 64-year-old man, Hock Soon, who lives alone in a wooden house in a friend's palm oil estate in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, has been making a meager living by collecting and reselling recyclable items.

He has been suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes for many years and has managed to control his conditions through medication. However, at the beginning of this year, he began to experience pain, redness, and swelling in his right foot, which was caused by a bacterial infection related to his diabetes. He had to visit a nearby government clinic daily for wound care, and gradually, the wound started healing.

Due to the pain in his right foot, which made it difficult to move, he has been unable to go out and collect recyclables for the past two months. As a result, he lost his source of income. Fortunately, there is a nearby coffee shop that provides him with free breakfast, ensuring that he has at least one proper meal a day.

Upon receiving the request for assistance, ONE HOPE CHARITY sent representatives to his home for an assessment. To facilitate his mobility, ONE HOPE CHARITY decided to lend him a wheelchair and provided him with food aid to alleviate his hunger.
