“I just want to get well soon. I want to get back to school as soon as possible to have fun with my friends.”

Although he only has the opportunity to attend school for a few months, Neehand Pritvy A/L Sri Kalidasan who had acute lymphocytic leukaemia, is not only eloquent but also smart. He learned English and Chinese through self-learning, and can speak the two languages fluently. Moreover, he is a curious child and is very interested in science and technology.

Neehand was diagnosed as an autistic and hyperactive child when he was seven. He only attended primary school for three months. In addition, he had leukaemia so he needed to avoid human interactions to prevent infections, so he spent most of his time at home and in the hospital.

And now, the cancer cells have spread to the testicles, so the hospital is arranging for emergency surgery to remove the cancerous part. After that, his mother will undergo stem cell extraction procedure in late April, and he is expected to undergo hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in May.

The RM365,000 needed by Neehand has been successful raised so the fundraising will stop with immediate effect. His mother, Ooi Yan Fen, is grateful for the help from the public in her most difficult time. She can’t pay back the kindness from the public but she hopes that her son can grow up safely and healthily.
