Peh Leng Heng from Kelantan, diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), received promising news from the hospital. A bone marrow donor from Japan, after undergoing a series of tests, has been identified as a suitable match for transplantation. The donor has agreed to donate to Peh Leng Heng, and the bone marrow transplant is estimated to take place in mid-May.

According to Peh Leng Heng, the doctors informed him that before the bone marrow transplant, he needs to undergo one final chemotherapy session to eliminate cancer cells. After the transplant, he will need to rest and be closely monitored for 3 to 6 months, with regular follow-up appointments. He hopes to complete the treatment before his wife's expected delivery in August and be in better health to welcome the arrival of their baby.

With the required medical expenses of RM 280,000 already raised, Peh Leng Heng can finally breathe a sigh of relief and focus more on his treatment.

Peh Leng Heng was diagnosed with MDS in November last year after experiencing common symptoms such as fever, cold, cough, and loss of appetite, followed by a sudden fainting episode. Detailed tests revealed MDS, a disorder characterized by abnormal development of bone marrow stem cells, leading to ineffective blood production, anemia, bleeding, and increased risk of infections.

The sudden news shocked him, but the doctors assured him of a high recovery rate, and he believes in their ability to save him. However, he understands that recovery will take time. For the sake of his wife and children, he is determined to face the challenges ahead bravely and undergo the treatment.

He expresses gratitude to the community for their strong support, enabling him, in his youth, to continue shouldering the responsibility of caring for his family. He wishes for a smooth bone marrow transplant and speedy recovery.
