"I hope to recover quickly, live a normal life, and resume my studies and sports. Thank you all for your help, giving me the chance to have a matching bone marrow and undergo the transplantation."

Poh Yu Heng, a 21-year-old residing in Butterworth, is a student majoring in marketing at a local university. He is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly representing the table tennis team. However, a sudden turn of events in July last year disrupted all his plans.

After being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), he underwent several treatments, enduring various side effects. The doctor recommended a bone marrow transplant, but unfortunately, his sister's bone marrow does not match. Currently, efforts are underway to find a suitable match, hoping for positive news.

With the required RM280,000 medical expenses fully funded, the fundraising campaign is officially concluded. The family expresses profound gratitude for the generous donations from the public. This fund not only initiates the bone marrow matching process but also covers the medical costs associated with the pre and post-transplantation phases. The family extends their thanks and hopes for continued support and blessings from the community, wishing for a successful transplant surgery and a resilient recovery for their son.

Yu Heng is expected to undergo a bone marrow transplant, followed by a 3-4 month observation period and the administration of anti-rejection medications. The family wishes him a healthy body and the freedom to pursue his dreams with the vibrant spirit of youth.
