The 34-year-old woman, Teoh Lay Peng, from Bukit Mertajam, Penang, was admitted to the hospital due to a bacterial infection. Her husband, Teo Boon Long, tirelessly took care of his wife and child, leading to financial strain. However, as per the family's request, which did not align with ONE HOPE CHARITY's regulations, ONE HOPE CHARITY announced the cessation of assistance, stating that their future actions were unrelated to ONE HOPE CHARITY.

ONE HOPE CHARITY received Teoh Lay Peng's assistance request on January 20th. After assessing the situation and understanding that the treatment plan was unclear and the medical expenses were unknown, ONE HOPE CHARITY provided immediate aid of RM 2000 to cover Teo Boon Long's accommodation and meals in Kedah. Additionally, volunteers were dispatched to visit Teoh Lay Peng at the Alor Setar Hospital.

ONE HOPE CHARITY also helped Teo Boon Long find accommodation at the hospital's patient family hostel and facilitated the transfer of Teoh Ley Peng to the Seberang Jaya Hospital when her condition stabilized.

Teoh Ley Peng was discharged on the first day of the Lunar New Year, and ONE HOPE CHARITY provided provisions, diapers, and milk powder assistance, lent a hospital bed, and extended financial support to Teo Boon Long to ensure they had food and resources during this period. ONE HOPE CHARITY also arranged and covered the ambulance fees for Teoh Ley Peng's emergency and follow-up hospital visits. As a result, Teoh Ley Peng's condition gradually improved.

Considering Teo Boon Long's ongoing caregiving responsibilities and Teoh Lay Peng's continued medical needs, ONE HOPE CHARITY initially decided to raise funds for their living and medical expenses. However, due to discrepancies and violations of ONE HOPE CHARITY's operations by Teo Boon Long, ONE HOPE CHARITY ultimately decided to cease assistance.

From January to March, ONE HOPE CHARITY has already provided RM 8740.50 in assistance, excluding the costs of milk powder and diapers. It's important to note that these funds were used from the public's donations for assistance, as fundraising had not yet begun. As both parties couldn't reach an agreement, ONE HOPE CHARITY hereby declares that it will no longer handle their case, and their future actions are unrelated to the foundation.

Note: ONE HOPE CHARITY's standard practice is not to raise funds directly into the patient's account or disclose the patient's bank account for direct donations.
