Despite the sorrow and tears shed by Tan Chee Yap's parents over their child's ordeal, it is the mention of his struggles that particularly moves his mother to tears. However, with the subsequent medical expenses and nursing home costs for Tan Chee Yap already fully funded, the family can finally set aside their financial worries and focus wholeheartedly on caring for him, hoping for his recovery and a return to a normal life.

The family is immensely grateful for the assistance from kind-hearted individuals in society, which has helped them weather this difficult time and provided Tan Chee Yap with a place to stay temporarily. The required RM 145,000 for Tan Chee Yap's care was raised within 21 hours, bringing tremendous relief to the family, especially during the Chinese New Year period, where they felt the warmth of society all around them.

Tan Chee Yap, residing in Lunas, Kedah, worked as a waiter. He fell unconscious while working and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with severe brain and spinal injuries. After a grueling 13-hour surgery to stabilize him by addressing neck fractures and clearing intracranial hemorrhage, he was temporarily out of danger and remained in the hospital's intensive care unit for two months. Due to his paralysis from the waist down, he is now settled in a nursing home.

Tan Chee Yap has received assistance from social insurance in the form of a wheelchair, a phlegm suction machine, and five packs of diapers per month, although the duration of this aid is uncertain. Currently, his elder sister is actively applying to social insurance for physical therapy and disability assistance. With the collective encouragement and well wishes from the public, it is hoped that Chen Zhiye will not give up and will actively participate in rehabilitation with his strong willpower, leading to recovery in due time.
