Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) of Penang Foundation has specifically allocated RM10,000 to ONE HOPE CHARITY to assist 9-year-old Neehand, who is suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This amount has been included in the earlier medical expenses fundraising initiative initiated by ONE HOPE CHARITY.

Recently, the head of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) of Penang Foundation, Dato' Rozali, officially handed over a RM10,000 Cheque to ONE HOPE CHARITY, which was personally received by chairman, Dato' Chua Sui Hau.

Dato' Rozali stated that during a visit to the children's ward at Penang General Hospital, TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang Tun Dato' Seri Utama (Dr.) Ahmad Fuzi bin Hj Abdul Razak, coincidentally met Neehand, who was receiving treatment at the hospital. After learning about the child's medical history and condition, he promised to donate RM10,000 in medical expenses through the ONE HOPE CHARITY.

Dato' Chua Sui Hau admitted that ONE HOPE CHARITY had initiated a fundraising campaign for Neehand's required RM365,000 medical expenses on April 19th this year. The funds donated by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) of Penang have been integrated into this initiative. He expressed gratitude for the trust and noted that ONE HOPE CHARITY has been entrusted to manage the donated funds.

Neehand, a 9-year-old of Chinese-Indian descent from Bukit Mertajam, had been experiencing recurrent fevers and hospitalizations since the age of two. It wasn't until he turned five that doctors suspected something was amiss. Blood tests revealed he was suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After his parents sought help from ONE HOPE CHARITY, we conducted a home visit assessment and decided to assist with raising the RM365,000 required for his bone marrow transplant. The funds donated by Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) of Penang Foundation have been included in this effort.

Neehand endured a challenging journey, undergoing a bone marrow transplant donated by his mother. However, he faced various side effects, rejections, bacterial infections, and more. He has now passed through the painful phase and requires regular follow-up appointments and observations.

ONE HOPE CHARITY wishes for the young boy to overcome his suffering and hopes for his complete recovery. We anticipate that he can grow up healthily and happily like other children. We extend our gratitude to the public for their donations and well-wishes.
