Yeap Ah Lan, 81, was moved into a nursing home last month after saying goodbye to her younger brother with sadness and anxiety about the future. Yeap Ah Lan is gradually adjusting to life in the nursing home and has formed a close relationship with her roommate.

Yeap Ah Lan attended school, where he learned to read and write. She makes it a point to read the newspaper every day. So, in addition to reading newspapers, she discusses national affairs, current events, and even personal hobbies with her nursing home roommates.

Yeap Ah Lan, who was initially depressed, is now much happier and cheerier and has a friendly smile on her face. She is even happier to have made a bosom friend in her later years, and she is predicted to live a long and happy life.

One Hope Charity funded the RM36,000 as a symbolic fundraiser for the elderly home and is appreciative of the public's kind assistance in enabling her to feel the warmth of society everywhere and to finally enjoy her old age for all time.
